An update from Shimmerman Penn as we approach Tax season

We wanted to provide you with an update as we prepare for Tax season and navigate the ever-changing situation with regard to COVID-19.

Our team continues to work at home and we’re coordinating through our technology tools to stay connected, prioritize workflow and work on client projects and file engagements.

We are maintaining a minimal presence in the office to receive mail and packages.

We encourage you to forward payment of our invoices through online banking and via electronic funds transfer. Please contact our Office Manager Amanda Duvall (info@spllp.com or 416-964-7200) for EFT instructions.

For your corporate files, please use our secure client portal and limit the use of couriers for paper documents.

With regard to Personal Tax season:

  • As we noted in our message yesterday, the filing due date for 2019 returns has been extended to June 1st.
  • We are making every effort to move from paper documents and strongly encourage you to use our online client portal or email us scanned documents.
  • Please hold off delivering any paper format tax documents to our office until further notice.

We will provide you with any further updates as they arise. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
