Elaine Pantel presented to the Portfolio Management Association of Canada's (PMAC) Operation Heads' Network Finance Sub-committee. The format was a table discussion, and also included members from across Canada (by phone).
Elaine's presentation, "Hot Topics from the Recent Audit Season," included the following topics:
- Audit scope for revenue streams and revenue testing;
- Accounting for employee stock options;
- Disclosure of related party transactions; and
- Understanding auditor independence.
The presentation generated discussions around the table with a focus on the information auditors need from our clients and the impact on audit scope and fees. Participants on the call represented member firms from across Canada.
