July and August at Shimmerman Penn means planning time. During the Summer, we turn our attention to planning for the Fall including reviewing upcoming changes to accounting standards and reviewing auditing efficiencies. We take a look at our office processes and follow up on any previous ideas or projects that had to take a back seat during tax season.

Many of us plan our vacation time during the summer months, after the busy tax season. There is always sufficient cover in the office of course, and we are open normal business hours during these two months.

Our social committee is also planning during these summer months, and we are looking forward to our annual 'big' social event in mid-September. Watch this space to find out what we end up doing!
