We are proud sponsors of the Distinctive Women IGNITE conference

We were proud to sponsor IGNITE, Distinctive Women's annual conference to connect like-minded and accomplished women professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs from across Canada.

The first day included the “Room of Interaction.” Participants switched tables 3 times and had a set of questions in each group to focus discussion in the following areas:

  • Employee engagement
  • Business development
  • Self-care

After that, Managing Partner Maj-Lis Vettoretti spoke for about 10 minutes, introducing herself and telling the delegates about Shimmerman Penn's work with entrepreneurs.

She said that we are a boutique firm focused on the needs of private owner-managed businesses – and this is rewarding for us because we build relationships directly with business owners. We get to know your business so we can help you with a range of business needs. Of course we provide a base of accounting and tax services, and our clients also look to us for advice in many different aspects of their business including banking and financing, purchase/lease of their car, remuneration for themselves and employees, how to manage growth or decline, and how to structure their business.

After Maj-Lis's short talk, there was a dinner and fashion show event showcasing clothing from Sympli and jewelry by Fran Green, and musical entertainment. Maj-Lis also participated in their annual fashion show!

The second day had three different panels of speakers focused on Mind, Body, Business. There was a lot of time available for networking.

Everyone was very open and generous in sharing information. It was genuinely an atmosphere of women helping women. Senior Manager Noha also attended and said it was a great event where she met interesting people. We hope to be able to participate again next year!
